Latinx on the Rise Launches First Mentoring Cohort

On October 25, 2019 the NWA Hispanic Leadership Council launched its first mentoring cohort. The main goals of the program are to encourage college students to get involved in the community and to provide them opportunities to develop networking and leadership skills. Mentors will help students to connect with the area’s stakeholders, and to become familiar with key community organizations, resources and pressing issues.

The event held at Exchange, Bentonville served to introduce the group of mentors and mentees that are already committed to meet during the year to discuss important topics related to their professional and leadership development. The mentees are students from the Northwest Arkansas Community College and the University of Arkansas. The mentors are professionals serving in large corporations, educational institutions and entrepreneurs.

Latinx on the Rise is the first mentoring program part of the NWA Hispanic Leadership Council mission to foster and develop Hispanic corporate, academic, non-profit, small business, and
cultural leaders in Northwest Arkansas. The goal of the NWA HLC is to empower the community and to influence and shape a diverse and equitable society which will drive continued prosperity and economic, cultural and social development in this region.
